Watts what!

More sightseeing in Edinburgh.  The day started nice and bright so we had a cycle in and had coffee and scones at the prestigious Dome restaurant that used to be the HQ of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Here is the Dome and this is the restaurant

Actually this room was set aside for lunch and we had coffee in another room that was still very grand.

We had a little walk around and headed for the National Museum of Scotland which was really good and suited me because it was free!

This is the jaw of the little known 'Janiceorus'.

This is James Watt the inventor of the steam engine, he certainly knew Watts what!

We went to the National Art Museum for my annual dose of culture.  I can only manage about 40 minutes of culture at one go but it was good to see Canneletto, Monet, Degas, Rubens and Van Gogh paintings in such a short time.  I learn something every time, I previously thought that Degas was a German stomach complaint!

The city was buzzing with preparations for the Fringe.  We had a little look outside the Castle which was ready for the Tattoo.

For those of you that are shocked by this photo, the confusion is caused by the appearance of sunshine in Scotland!

Yesterday's sneezing competition was a rather disappointing 0-0 draw but at the time of press, I am ahead 1-0 today.

Looking forward to a bit of 'Passion' tonight!
