On to No Mans Land.

Sunday 8th May 2016 - Looe

Our journey took us from Devon, over the Tamar Bridge into Cornwall.

It was built the same year as I was born.  The bridge on the left was built by Brunel a few years before.

We were going to a CL near Looe in the village of No Mans Land, just as the name suggests there is about 5 properties in total and I didn't see anyone around.  It's also very close to a Monkey Sanctuary so I am keeping a low profile in case they report any of the wildlife has escaped.

We had a banana and jam sandwich (with Sheila's strawberry jam) and we decided to walk from the site to Looe and onto Polperro on the coastal path.  Just like Devon everywhere is either uphill or downhill and we were constantly going up or down.  We think that the walk in total was about 8 miles each way.

This is a view of the East Looe beach.

Polperro harbour.  I learned that they are still using two ex Barrow in Furness milk floats, converted to transport people down from the car parks to the village.  They must be ancient by now.

We didn't waste any time getting to grips with a proper Cornish Pasty.  It was an improvement on the Devon Pasty but I know I can find better.

I needed the pasty to get me back on the return walk.

Looe was looking good in the early evening sunshine.

During our walk we were still on the lookout for bird life.  We saw a small bird with a black head, white collar and brown/reddish breast.  I Warbled with delight as I went through my repertoire of Tits and I put out the Bunting when I realised it was a Willow Tit.  Being a warm day, the Tits were coming out nicely around the shore, so much so that I got a Wryneck and Janice kicked me up the Oriole!

Time to put the feet up and my imagination too.
